Corporate Responsibility

At Alexion, we embrace bold ideas and learn from the world around us to help improve our communities with a focus on health & wellness and STEAM education (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math).

Global Day of Service

Alexion launched its first Global Day of Service in September 2016. More than 1,500 employees in 24 countries across the globe participated to make a difference in their communities. Volunteers taught students life skills, beautified schools and parks, assisted at homeless shelters, provided food to people in need, supported families with sick children, and much more. We look forward to holding our second-annual Global Day of Service in November 2017.

Alexion in the Community

In addition to the dozens of existing partnerships Alexion is currently engaged in, we launched a number of charitable initiatives in New Haven in 2016. We began the year by launching a daily grant-giving initiative called “Here in New Haven” to celebrate the move into our new global headquarters. We also launched our first competitive grant program, asking our partners in the community to reflect Alexion’s mission by identifying an overlooked issue and presenting their innovative solution. After receiving dozens of submissions, Liberty Community Services’ RESPECT Work Program was chosen as the recipient of a $100,000 grant to help individuals facing homelessness in New Haven get back to work through beautification projects across city.
